Onboarding and sync language review
A close reading of the words and waiting states people see while a note is travelling: last saved, still uploading, conflict, and the sentences that make someone open a paper pad instead.
This is a close reading of the sentences, stamps, and waiting labels people see while a note is travelling. It is not a redesign of the notebook, and it is not a course in writing interface copy.
What we mark up
Last saved. All changes saved. Still uploading. Waiting for network. Version conflict. Keep mine. Keep theirs. Those phrases do different work in a kitchen at 9 p.m. than they do in a spec. We sit with four to five writers, watch which labels they trust, and annotate a set of screenshots you provide — or screenshots we take together in the session if you would rather not prepare a pack.
Included
- A working session with whoever owns those strings, in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or both if the app ships in both.
- Marked-up screenshots and rewritten fragments. We rewrite in the tone the app already has; we do not impose a house style from Seremban.
- A short memo on phrases people skip, misread as a promise about the other device, or treat as a warning to open paper.
Excluded
We will not rewrite onboarding for the whole product. We will not translate the entire string catalogue. If you need Malay after an English review, say so up front; that is extra days, not a free add-on.
Time and price
Five to eight working days. From RM 2,800. Send the strings that appear during save, sync, offline, and conflict. If a participant in a past study already objected to a sentence, include that objection; it saves us rediscovering it.
